A couple of small "studio" dollhouses for you to look at...
I made these a couple of months ago... Strawberry Shortcake and her friends, the Calico Critters, Littlest PetShop animals, etc. like living in these small doll houses! They are a fun "quick" project and are small enough to pack away when not in use.

Another "studio" dollhouse...
Here's a picture of another miniature one room + attic doll house for you to look at for ideas... The attic is scrap booking paper with a ribbon border where the two scrapbooking papers meet. The main room is wallpaper I created and is available for free from an earlier post. The attic carpet is cream colored fleece. The main room carpet is some "plush" material from Wal-Mart.

New little "studio" dollhouse for you to look at...
Here's a small "studio" doll house with an attic. It's meant to be cute instead of real looking! Maybe you can tell, but it uses the wallpapers from earlier posts.

Craft Fair Donation Item...
The craft fair we were at today asked for donation items, so this was ours... for any of you who are handy with cutting 4 pieces of wood you can make up these really fast and they would make a nice quick gift for someone. We used a small string of battery powered lights to light it up.

A newly completed dollhouse for you to look at!
How do you like the newest dolls house?! I'll write more later about how things were done in case you are wanting to do something similar. In the meantime, here are some pictures (click on them to view them larger). Here are some notes about the house:

* It has a removeable attic cover, so the attic can be used for storage or as another room.
* The pictures on the walls are attached with small pieces of Velcro, so they can be moved around or easily changed.
* The toilet lid hinges :)
* Beds have a mattress cover, blanket and top spread.
* All the wallpaper in this house is scrapbooking paper. Even the kitchen and bathroom linoleum flooring is scrapbooking paper, covered with shiny laminate.

Getting your own lighted dollhouse
My husband and I build lighted wooden dollhouses from a plan we came up with together. We also came up with several miniature doll house furniture pieces you can build from wood scraps. We keep everything simple, so if you are a woodworker (or know one) you should be able to make everything yourself by looking at the pictures. If you live near Lebanon, Oregon or are willing to travel there, you can buy things directly from us.
What does the back of a lighted dollhouse look like?

If you are wondering what the back of a lighted dollhouse looks like, here is a photo of one. It was made from scraps of wood paneling. Yes, when the dollhouse is plugged in, there is a rosy glow behind it! But maybe that's just the sunrise behind the house... or the sunset! *A safety note: Do not remove extra bulbs, it makes the remaining bulbs burn brighter and hotter*

A quick way to add lights to your dollhouse!

Use a short string of white Christmas lights to light up a homemade dollhouse... just drill holes through the back of the dollhouse, insert the lights, and plug in! Not only do children love it, but even if you have no children, it's a cheery and unique way to light up an area in your home.
