Free "oiled walnut" dollhouse floor - extra large file!

If you are decorating a doll house that has larger floors than our other files print, here is an extra large file of wooden flooring.  It should print around 30" x 30".  You could use a printing service (like Costco, or Walmart) and print either a regular print or a poster print to get some "instantly ready" flooring.  I have not done this so do not know how durable it would be without spraying with an acryllic sealer... let us know if you do it - do you like it, would you do it again, what would you do different...  Enjoy!

(Be sure to select the picture, save to your computer or device and print (or order a print) from there.  Printing this page will not print the full resolution of the floor.)

As always, for personal use only.  Thank you!

How to make some basic homemade wooden dollhouse bathroom furniture

Here is a "before" picture of a wooden doll house toilet, bath tub, and sink. I'm still experimenting, but these are solid and playable. I plan on painting them white. The toilet lid will hinge with a small bit of fabric glued on. You can buy various sized dowels in the craft section of stores, or from a hardware store. I made this picture a little larger than normal so you can see the pieces and how they're put together.

As a side note, the wallpaper is scrapbooking paper and the floor is too - it's covered with clear plastic laminate. It is from Joann Fabric and Craft Stores and looks really nice installed.

Here is an after picture of the bathroom... First I painted every thing white. The sink part I painted a little bit of an off white to make it stand out more. The toilet flush handle I just painted on with a bit of grey paint. Same with the bathroom sink faucet and handles (I couldn't find anything on hand tiny enough to look realistic, but will keep looking!). The bathtub faucet is a metal hook and the bath tub's hot / cold water handles are earring posts. The pictures on the walls are attached with Velcro so they can be switched around. The pictures are those small ones found on the backs of calendars. Then I glued them on foam paper. The mirror above the sink is a small 1 inch mirror from the craft section, and I glued it to the middle of a piece of foam paper, and then cut small pieces to form a border around it. The toilet I ended up making hinge with a small piece of white duct tape.

Here is a picture of a later homemade wooden dollhouse toilet that is a little simpler to make...  This lid does not hinge like the other one.

A tile and wallpaper set for your dollhouse!

Here are a couple of options for doll house larger-sized tile floors, as well as a coordinating diamond wallpaper. It would look nice in either a bathroom, kitchen, or laundry room.

Print your own wood laminate dollhouse flooring

Here are some printable wooden laminate doll house floors for you... after printing them you can do one of two things:

1. Print, cover with clear vinyl laminate (like Contact Paper), trim, and glue to your floor.
2. Print, spray several coats of clear acrylic sealer, trim, and glue to your floor.

More about making your own "linoleum" for your dollhouse

As mentioned in the previous post, there are several ways to actually create your own dollhouse "linoleum" pattern.

1.  Do a google image search for linoleum.  For best quality results choose to return images that are extra large.  When you find one that is to your liking, print it out and cover with clear laminate.  (note: be careful of copyrights, only use this idea for personal use.)

2.  Scrapbooking paper is another great idea for linoleum... just cover it with clear laminate and lay!

3.  This is my favorite!  Create your own custom linoleum using clip art.  If you have photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, use it.  Otherwise, you can insert little squares of clip art into a word processing program... alternate them with the same sized square of solid color to look more natural... and then cut and paste, filling up the sheet.  Print and laminate.  I'll include a sample for you to look at, or to use if you would like some sunflower linoleum for a sunny kitchen!  Just click on the one you would like and then either print or save to your computer.  (Don't resell them, obviously, since they have been given to you for free!)

Making "linoleum" for your dollhouse

There are several ways you can create custom linoleum for your dollhouse.  The general idea though is to print it on your home printer and cover it with some craft adhesive laminate (we think clear Con-Tact Paper is the easiest one to work with, but you can use any brand).  Next, cut the linoleum to your floor's size.  Then, smear a thin layer of glue on the floor, and place your flooring on top of it, smoothing out any wrinkles.  (note:  make sure you allow the ink to completely dry before laminating and gluing your linoleum.)
